The Krka River has altogether seven magnificent waterfalls and you will have the chance to enjoy the longest and the most beautiful of them - the Skradinski buk waterfall. Walking along the boardwalks and passing over travertine barriers, enjoy the beauty of the river and the variety of the park's vegetation. The Skradinski buk waterfall is also the site of the first hydropower plant in Europe (1895) and the second one in the world. Visit the old watermills dating from the 19th and see why they were so important and considered the symbol of the economic power.There will be ample time here for exploring and taking photographs or simply relaxing in the shade of the old oak and ash trees.

Krka is one of the seven national parks in Croatia. It covers an area of 14222 ha with its specific characteristics of natural, human and cultural values, particularly geological, geomorphologic, hydrological, biological and landscape elements. The Krka river is a distinctive phenomenon also due to its specific biocenosis and formation of gypsum barriers. The whole area is rich with endemic species-vegetation as well as birds and fish. Due to very strong laws on natural preservation this extraordinary area has been preserved in its original form.
